DAY 1 Upon arrival at Ho Chi Minh City / Tan Son Nhat International Airport you will be met and transferred to the hotel. Ho Chi Minh City is still called Saigon by many locals, and is a center of commerce, finance, culture and tourism in Vietnam. You may choose to use your leisure time to rest or to take a shopping tour at Tay Son lacqueware workshop, Ben thanh night market or Dong khoi shopping street. Dinner will be served on a floating restaurant accompanied by a show and cruise on the Saigon River. You will stay overnight in Ho Chi Minh. DAY 2 In the morning, we will drive out to explore the Cu Chi Tunnels. This is an incredible underground network built by Vietnamese fighters during their long struggle for independence. The tunnels contained hospitals, living quarters and schools. They were used as a military base for the Vietcong in the American war. The afternoon sightseeing tour will acquaint us with the city's major sights. We will pass the now-demolished wartime American Embassy and then move on to explore the Reunification Palace. This Palace was the former residence of the President of South Vietnam until the end of April, 1975. Nearby are some French colonial structures including the Notre Dame Cathedral and the Old Sai Gon Post Office. We will then continue on to the bustling Ben Thanh Market where anything and everything is for sale. DAY 3 We will leave town in the morning, traveling by roads to the Mekong Delta, Vietnam's largest rice bowl. On arrival in My Tho, we will board a boat which navigates the intricate small canals in the delta region. This is a great way to observe the local lifestyle close-up and to glimpse a landscape dotted with many islands. This exciting excursion will take us through lush green vegetation before arriving at the famous Unicorn Island. Here you can enjoy a stroll around an orchard, taste many seasonal fruits and take in wonderful traditional music. The next stop on our list is Ben Tre Province where we will visit some fascinating local industries. After enjoying a huge lunch we return to Ho Chi Minh. You will then have time at leisure for shopping. You will have dinner at a local restaurant and spend overnight in Ho Chi Minh. DAY 4 After breakfast at the hotel, enjoy your leisure time until the flight to Hanoi. Upon arrival at Hanoi / Noi Bai International Airport, you will transfer to the hotel for check-in. You will have the rest of the day at leisure. Lunch will be at a local restaurant. The afternoon features a half-day city tour. You will visit Hoan Kiem Lake and Ngoc Son Temple. In the evening you will attend a performance of the famous Vietnamese traditional art of water puppetry at Thang Long Theatre. Overnight will be spent in Honoi. DAY 5 In the morning you will be picked-up at your hotel and transferred to Halong Bay, located 165 kilometers east of Hanoi. Halong Bay is listed as a World Heritage Area of outstanding natural beauty. Known in Vietnamese as the” Dragon descending to the sea,” picturesque Halong Bay has more than 1,000 limestone islets rising from the sea, many of them containing beautiful grottoes. You will arrive at noon in Halong city and board the wooden Junk. A seafood lunch is served on board as you cruise through the bay. You will then visit Thien Cung & Dau Go caves and circle Tuan Chau, Ga Choi, Dinh Huong, Dog and Sail Islands. The Junk will stop at Titop Beach. Enjoy dinner and overnight on board of the Junk. DAY 6 In the morning, the Junk will continue cruising to Man's head and Tortoise islands, Luan cave, Bai Tu Long Bay, Toad Island and Bai Tho Mountain. Enjoy brunch on board. You will disembark at Halong pier. The afternoon will commence with a drive back to the Hotel in Halong. Enjoy leisure time in Halong. Overnight will be spent at the hotel in Halong. DAY 7 In the morning spend your time at leisure enjoying your own activities. You will transfer back to Hanoi in the afternoon and stop mid-point at Hong Ngoc Biggest shopping center to relax and shop. Upon returning to Hanoi, you will have free time to shop in the Old Quarter. Overnight will spent at the hotel in Hanoi. DAY 8 In the morning you will proceed to Tam Coc to visit “Halong Bay on Land.” These are the same limestone rocks as in Halong Bay but can be seen in a stream winding through paddy fields instead of in the sea. Enjoy spectacular scenery on your boat trip to Tam Coc caves which includes a visit to the Bich Dong Pagoda. Lunch will be at a local restaurant. The afternoon will include a visit to the Dinh and Le dynasty temples. You will then transfer back to Hanoi where you will stay overnight. DAY 9 Spend the day at leisure. Accommodations will be at the hotel in Hanoi. DAY 10 Spend your time at leisure until you transfer to Hanoi / Noi Bai International Airport for departure.
